Independent creative company 20(SOMETHING) has strengthened its management team with two senior appointments. Anisha Obeng has been promoted as its first-ever client partner and Lucinda Gosling joins as strategy partner.
Anisha Obeng, who joined 20(S) in 2021, had previously worked with Thacker and Barnard at 18 Feet & Rising. Since joining 20(S), she has played an instrumental role in shaping the agency’s client experience, growing the accounts and project management team and overseeing standout work for The Woolmark Company, EA Sports, token.com, and Marshmallow car insurance. In her new role, she will lead the expansion of this department and serve as the principal point of contact for all client projects as 20(S) continues to add to its portfolio of work.
Lucinda Gosling joins the agency following the departure of Fran Docx in 2024. With a background spanning Wieden+Kennedy, Vice, TikTok and R/GA London, she brings extensive strategic expertise and a CV that includes work for Nike, Coca-Cola, Oatly, Deloitte, BBC, and Bacardi. With close to 20 years of experience in strategy and account planning, Lucinda will continue building upon the strong strategic foundations laid by Docx, who had been with the agency since 2020.
Both will join the company’s operational board, working alongside founders Will Thacker and Andrew Barnard to drive business growth and strategic direction. True to 20(SOMETHING)’s culture, though, their primary reports remain their young children. The agency’s flexible working structure enables Lucinda to balance life in Bristol with a London-based role, while Anisha can continue supporting her young family without having to compromise her career progression or leadership responsibilities.
These appointments come at an exciting time for 20(S), it’s no coincidence that the agency has seen a flourish of new business in Q4 and Q1 with appointments from the UK’s fastest-growing tech company Allica Bank, global cybersecurity leader Bitdefender, unicorn fintech Wise and the newly-founded US entity Rainforest Defence Company
On Anisha’s appointment, Andrew Barnard commented, “Anisha has played a crucial role in bringing stability to our creative processes since day one. Having worked together at 18F&R, we have the kind of symbiotic relationship that helps push a company’s growth without compromising partner experiences. It’s a delight to have her join the leadership - we’re so pleased for her, her family, and all the clients she supports.”
Will Thacker added on Lucinda’s arrival, “Lucinda and I have had the opportunity to work together for nearly six months now. Bringing her on board full-time was a no-brainer, so we were delighted when she chose to commit to 20(S). She has worked with so many brilliant agencies and industry leaders, it was humbling to have her sign up for the long haul. Her experience with both commercial and third-sector brands - some global, some ultra-local - aligns perfectly with our outlook. She will seriously strengthen the agency’s capabilities, and I couldn’t be more excited for our team and our clients to have her in our corner.”
