The Tomorrow Awards and its partners Great Works and A LOUD MINORITY have announced this season’s five winners in a ceremony in Sweden’s capital city.
The winners are:
· The Barbarian Group (USA) for “Cinder”
· PARTY Inc. (Japan) for “OMOTE 3D SHASHIN KAN”
· RBK Communication (Sweden) for “Natalia Project”
· Loducca (Brazil) for “A Loja Vazia/The Empty Shop”
· Åkestam Holst for “Swebus Train Switch”
The winners were decided by the Tomorrow Awards Monster Judges—the first jury panel to ensure a 50/50 split under ADC’s new “Let’s Make the Industry 50/50” Initiative—including:
· Fernanda Romano, Co-Chair (CCO and Partner at Naked Brazil)
· Sune Kaae, Senior Technology Director at R/GA
· Sophia Bendz, Global Director of Marketing at Spotify
· Joel Lunenfeld, VP of Global Brand Strategy at Twitter
· Amani Duncan, Vice President, Brand Marketing at C.F. Martin & Co., Inc.
“This has been perhaps the best Tomorrow Awards ‘class’ since the awards’ inception,” remarked Ignacio Oreamuno, Executive Director of ADC and Founder of the Tomorrow Awards. “The Monster Judges selected a very diverse collection of winners, with all sorts of technologies — and regions of the world — represented here.”
Beyond the trophies and accolades bestowed upon the winners, the Tomorrow Awards seeks to educate the greater advertising, tech and design industries about new creative possibilities. The Monster Judging process is filmed and shared, including additional insights from the judges, so that the public may learn not only from the work that wins, but also why top-contending entries did not make the top five.
