RSA Films directing duo Swann and Yoann have brought their signature mixed media visual flair to a new co-branded ad campaign introducing the latest fashion collection from Decathlon’s basketball line in collaboration with the NBA. Swann and Yoann wrote, directed, art directed and post-produced the integrated campaign themselves, including the hero film and five original social videos to be released over the coming weeks.
Filming real people demonstrating their on-court skills mixed with original animated graphics, the brothers aimed to make Decathlon’s Tarmak sub-brand feel more urban and streetwise, contrasting with the retailer’s broader institutional and family-friendly image.
Since launching their studio Thanksbro in 2020, Swann and Yoann have quickly established themselves in advertising through their unique directorial perspective. Clients include Nike, Lacoste and French retailer Printemps. For this NBA/Decathlon collaboration, the brothers successfully blended their artistic vision with the brands’ goals to showcase shared values of basketball culture and sporting goods for an active lifestyle.
The final film aligns perfectly with the retailer's goals to reach a young, diverse audience. Swann and Yoann's visual style succeeds in making the Tarmak sub-brand feel fresh and energetic. By showcasing basketball culture with authenticity and passion, the campaign speaks to Decathlon customers worldwide. They plan to continue to work with the brothers on campaigns to come.
With this high-profile cross-promotional project now added to their portfolio, Swann and Yoann appear poised to take on even more ambitious campaigns as they continue honing their signature style and creative edge.
