Papaya London Announces Gem Souleyman as Executive Producer

Papaya London Announces Gem Souleyman as Executive Producer

Papaya Films are continuing to make waves in London… Expanding and growing into a creative force of nature... with this expansion Papaya has hired London based EP Gem Souleyman to nurture and grow its UK roster.

Papaya London have already made incredible moves to showcase fresh UK based talent launching their music video roster and introducing Papaya Young Creators, a platform to discover and spotlight new talent across Europe, in which last year's ceremony saw London based creative and emerging director Rosie May Bird Smith awarded for Best Film in the Branded Stories category for the film 'Herd Immunity', prepared for Onet. The push she received from PYC sees the London-based filmmaker now nominated for a British Arrow!

The roster that Papaya already has, with directors like Martin Aarmund, Jack Bowden and Willem Gerritsen is undoubtedly going to be supported and expanded with Souleyman’s guiding hand.

Gem, most recently from Untold Studios, will bring his years of experience and bags of enthusiasm to the role and also his invaluable knowledge of the creative heartbeat in London and of course his incredible eye for great filmmakers.

Here’s what Gem had to say about joining - “I’m delighted to be joining Papaya. When I first met the team I was struck by the scale of their ambition and their plan to develop a new kind of creative space in London. I’m excited to now be a part of it. I’ll be working every day to support emerging talent and build the future of this brilliant business. It feels like good timing too - our new office is up and running and we’re ready to welcome creators, agencies and clients from across the industry.”

Wojtek Skiba, Papaya London’s managing director and EP adds, “I am extremely happy that Gem decided to join Papaya’s London operation. He brings not only the energy and enthusiasm that matches ours but also the local experience we are pairing with our global expertise to become unstoppable. He’s such a great guy and it seems like an amazing fit for our team.

Ever since we started talking about Gem joining Papaya, we knew we wanted him to be a part of our set up. It is our highest profile London hire to date and we can’t wait to see what the future brings.”
