M&C Saatchi is partnering with client O2 as it reaches the final stage of its recently launched Open House programme.
In line with its commitment to creating a fair and equal landscape for all, the telecoms giant is collaborating with the creative agency to help select up to 15 candidates who will take up positions or placements at M&C Saatchi. The individuals will be chosen following a pitch process at the final stage of Open House, a free eight-week virtual training course open to absolutely anyone who wants to learn more about a career in communications.
Since its launch on the 29th July, M&C Saatchi Open House has had more than 1,500 people signing up from all over the world, with over 700 of those actively participating each week. The programme’s primary objective is to remove barriers for people who want to break into the communications industry but have not had the support, connections or access to do so.
As a brand which aims to treat everyone fairly and equally, O2 chose to get involved in M&C Saatchi Open House, in order to help a more diverse range of talent get into the industry, and will set the final brief for participants.
All pitches submitted in response to the brief will be judged and offered feedback by Simon Groves, director of brand and Marcoms at O2.
Camilla Kemp, CEO, M&C Saatchi, said: “We created Open House to level the playing field and invite a broader range of people to access our industry. We want to give absolutely anyone and everyone the opportunity to learn the tricks of the trade. As a brand which makes creating a fair and equal landscape central to everything it does, O2 is the perfect partner for our initiative. We’re delighted that the O2 team will be helping us select the talent that will shape our future.”
Nina Bibby, chief marketing officer, O2, added: “At O2, inclusivity helps us to build the very best teams, who can truly reflect the diverse values of the customers we serve. So we’re delighted to support Open House, an important programme seeking to make the industry more accessible to all. Together with M&C, I’m looking forward to exploring how we can nurture future talent and open doors to the brightest minds.”
