Macmillan Cancer Support has appointed Smith & Milton to review its volunteer proposition.
Smith & Milton, which won the work following a competitive pitch, will be undertaking a significant strategic review of Macmillan’s volunteer proposition. The agency will work alongside the charity’s in-house marketing and creative services teams to ensure that the new proposition has maximum impact for Macmillan when communicating to existing and prospective volunteers.
Joelle Leader, director of volunteering, at Macmillan Cancer Support, said: “Our ambition is not only to reach and improve the lives of everyone affected by cancer, but also to inspire millions of others to do the same.
“So we’re committed to building, inspiring and supporting a movement of volunteers who can get involved with our work, from organising fundraising events to providing practical or emotional support, helping in our information centres or volunteering with us through our partners.
“We are sure that the proposition will give us the tools we need to communicate with our existing and potential volunteers in the most effective and relevant way, so we can continue our work to make sure that no one has to face cancer alone.”
Tim Hutchins, client director at Smith & Milton, added: “When we talk to clients about brands, Macmillan is always a best practice example of how to be distinctive, consistent and compelling, and their results speak for themselves. To have the chance to work with such an amazing organisation is incredibly rewarding, and we look forward to helping them do even more incredible work for people affected by cancer in any way we can.”
