LS Films Sees First Short Film Documentary Selected by EIFF

The world premiere of the 20-minute short film by LS Films and Guardian Documentaries, Little Warrior, will take place later this month at the Edinburgh International Film Festival.

The film follows the story of Johana Gómez, 10-time reigning Venezuelan amateur featherweight champion, as she attempts to pull herself and her family out of poverty by pursuing her dream to become a professional boxer. An unlikely connection changes the trajectory of her life when she contacts Scottish boxing trainer Gary Young, who sees her potential and facilitates the offer of a professional contract.

The screening will take place at the OMNi Centre Vue Cinema on Saturday 20th August at 3:30pm and will be followed by a Q&A with director Paul Sng, editor Manuela Lupini, producer Sarah Drummond and executive producer Irvine Welsh.
