Women-owned, bicoastal edit house The Den is excited to welcome next gen talent Joseph Taylor to their roster of award-winning editors.
Growing up by the beach in New Zealand, Joseph Taylor’s fascination for filmmaking began with coveted weekly trips to the local DVD rental store as a kid. After relocating to the UK as a teenager, Joseph used his downtime during a fleeting stint as a professional footballer to teach himself how to shoot and edit films. From there he continued to explore various aspects of filmmaking before hitting his stride in the editing room, where his innate talents emerged.
Joseph’s editing style is instinctual and rhythmic, taking the viewer on a compelling and evocative journey in a breadth of work that has included commercials, music videos, short films, documentaries, and art films. As a creative collaborator, he has worked alongside some of the industry’s most established and emerging talents, including Gabriel Moses, Netti Hurley and Walid Labri. Joseph’s commercial work includes campaigns for renowned global brands, such as Nike, Burberry, Beats by Dre, Versace, Mercedes-Benz, Budweiser, EA Sports, Moncler, and Levi’s, amongst others.
On signing with The Den, Joseph says, “After chatting with Rachel and Christjan, I felt that The Den would be the perfect place for me to continue my editing journey. I’m delighted to be joining their incredible team.”
Rachel Seitel, co-founder and editor at The Den says, “Joseph has a flawless eye and tremendous natural talent for editing. We knew he would be an asset to our roster when we saw his work. Joseph has the incredible ability to shape a story in a way that invites the viewer along and allows them to connect on a deep, instinctual level. We are thrilled to welcome him to The Den.”
