Alexander McQueen has launched its new Spring-Summer 2023 campaign with a series of films from acclaimed director Jonas Åkerlund.
For 2023, the British brand set down in their home of London, taking inspiration from last year’s runway show which took place on the banks of the Thames. Alexander McQueen creative director, Sarah Burton, worked with Jonas to create a series of short films capturing the streets of London.
The series of shorts, produced by Ridley Scott’s Black Dog Films production company, premiered across social media and celebrate strength and individuality. Starring actresses Sadie Sink and Pom Klementieff, model Naomi Campbell, French singer-songwriter Yseult, dancer and artist METTE, and Sudanese model Nyagua, each film is set against a backdrop as powerful as the women themselves, from the brutal interior of an underground carpark to the iconic dome of St Paul’s Cathedral. Each character is immersed in their own world until finally, all are united in a formidable community.
