2023 is well underway and between the head-spinning AI explosion and the rollercoaster economy it’s been a busy old year so far, with so much change packed into three months for the whole industry.
Here at LBB, it’s been livelier than ever. Traffic and growth is higher than it's ever been and, while that might sound like a brag, we think that’s great news for the people and companies that make up our wonderful community.
Transparency has always been one of the core values of LBB - which is why unlike most industry platforms we’ve always shared things like views on news stories. And so we want to, with the urging of some of our oldest community members, share the news about our growth over the past year. As you can see, February and March have seen huge year on year traffic growth, and that means that being part of LBB is more valuable than ever.
The graphic above shows our rapid and continual growth. Our traffic now is bigger than most but continuing to go north. That is not common in our world right now. We are also growing a really quite large team. We now have 40+ staff across the UK, Germany, North America and ANZ, and will open in other markets soon.
At this point, it’s probably worth reminding you that we’re not just a news channel or publication, but a platform in the truest, most dynamic sense. There’s the news channel which follows the business of creativity - which is growing rampantly. Plus there’s our free-to-enter award show, the Immortal Awards, that is growing at about 35% a year (now approved by networks, major holding companies and even on a country level - see the below graphic from the ICA [Institute of Canadian Agencies] that we are very proud of). The Immortal Awards has just kicked off its 2023 cycle and there’s a lot of exciting news to come on that front - so stay tuned! We also have a creative archive for the whole world to view, now with clickable credits - the growth in this area is massive. You can put your work in it and be ‘found’ by all.
And here is the killer bit - there is no paywall to view. It’s free! And that means we’re a useful and accessible resource for everyone, including students and marketers.
As I mentioned above, our award is growing fast and is now recognised by creatives, clients, networks and holding companies as one to enter. It’s different and is helping put local creativity on a global stage. We are loving that Associations like The Institute of Canadian Agencies (The ICA) now have us on their ‘Creative Powerlist’ with only five other global awards. Again, we are NOT showing off - just proud.
It means a LOT to us that agencies are putting us in above company. We are immensely proud of this, and it has taken us just five years. See the link to this story here
Our general growth is fuelled by not just more news and many more dwelling on our new credits system, but also by many more advertisers / clients who use us as a source to find companies to work with (both online and offline). We are helping a new user navigate this changing business. This one platform approach is working for those who can come to our site and find out what is happening in the UK, USA, ANZ, Canada, Germany, India, France, and many, many more.
Our fantastic team is really very pleased with all the above. They work incredibly hard to make sure we are always pushing out fresh, relevant and insightful content. They’re also working hard to continue to develop the functionality of the platform. We have set out our stall to help all navigate the business we love, and we know that we are helping - we get some really great stories from our members.
We will keep pushing. We have a plan that will take this business much further and are just about to launch a site that will offer something to the advertising / marketing / production industry that has never been available before. We have promised ourselves that we will continue to share this news with you. It’s important that you know.
If you want to hear more on the above, I’m always available and would love to talk about how we can help you.
