Heckler Singapore’s Charu Menon to Talk ‘Craft as a Love Language’ at Ad Black Sea Festival of Creativity

Along with her role judging the Ad Black Sea Awards Classic category – encompassing advertising campaigns, film, film craft and out of home – Charu's talk will take place on day one of the festival, held between September 14th to 16th.

 

‘Craft As A Love Language’ will centre on the importance of high craft in post-production and VFX, and explores what it takes to achieve it. Charu will share her insights and learnings on how to best manage a design studio while continuing to nourish creativity and reward authenticity. 

 

Charu said, “I’m excited to attend a creative festival in a part of the world that I don’t normally get the chance to travel. I’m also super curious to see what work is coming out of the region and to meet up with other creatives that I can be inspired by.

 

“Ad Black Sea is a great initiative – a creative festival set in a region that’s had a very turbulent couple of years, showcasing important work that I’m very proud to be able to support.”

 

Charu was also on the Film Craft Jury at Cannes Lions 2023, was part of the Direction Jury for D&AD in 2020 and 2022 and has served on craft juries for the Immortal Awards, Ciclope Asia, Ciclope Berlin and Madstars in Korea. She was voted as a Campaign Brief Asia Woman to Watch in 2021. She is also the writer-producer and EP of ‘By the River’ – an Australian documentary on the ‘death hotels’ in the holy Indian city of Varanasi.
