Gerety Talks Goes Live in Paris with Champagne Cocktail

The Gerety Champagne cocktails are touring this year bringing together the Gerety community around the world for networking drinks and a Gerety Talk panel.

Last week in Paris, leading creatives joined the Gerety Awards with LIBRE MullenLowe to celebrate the 2023 Gerety winners over a champagne cocktail and a live panel.

Moderated by Xuoan Duquesne, editor in chief and partner at La Réclame, the panel included:

• Vanessa Vankemmel Sebban, head of creative works France at Google
• Antoine Colin, vice president creative director of LIBRE Mullen Lowe
• Rana Khoury, ECD
• Marianne Desgrandchamps, creative copywriter BETC FULLSIX

The theme of the panel was Creativity in a world of AI, a hot topic that is being discussed not only in the creative sector but in many other places since it has brought many changes to the way we work.

The discussion started putting on the table if AI is being used today by agencies or if it is more of a taboo. Unexpected uses of AI, how the work in creativity has changed, the impact on the economic model of agencies and new solutions companies like Google recommends to clients were some of the themes that were brought into the table by the participants during the discussion. Even some people from the audience spontaneously spoke up when hot topics like image rights and copyright were evoked.

A certain nostalgia for manual art craft at work was also mentioned but all participants agreed AI helps to do things faster and save time and it is a great tool to explore more possibilities faster when working on a creative idea. It is also clear AI is here to stay, and this is only the beginning.
