Director Simon Levene Signs to Dark Energy

Dark Energy today announces that award-winning director Simon Levene has joined its roster for UK representation. Simon has a vast array of experience spanning commercials, short films and documentaries, having worked across the globe in his chosen field. Not one to rest on his laurels, he also has a passion for writing screenplays and is currently embarking on his first novel.

Having spent the past few years working in Australia, the US and France, Simon explained, “Its good to be back working in the UK. Hopefully you take the best from wherever you go and then incorporate what you have learnt back home. I’m definitely a better director for working in all these different territories.”

Known for his love of taking inspiration from actual events and adding unbelievable imagery and emotions, Levene has worked on all manner of projects over the years, earning him several of the industries highest accolades, including at Cannes Lions, D&AD, Kinsale Shark Awards and over 20 international film festivals finalist status. He was even named one of the ‘10 Hottest Directors in the World’ at the Saatchi and Saatchi New Director Showcase. His short film 'Shoreditch Slayer' won Best Film at the Irish Science Fiction award, whilst ‘Tube Poker’ stormed the festival circuit.  He also has a unique approach to casting and creating unparalleled, standout performances.
