Toronto-based production company ANIMALS has welcomed Australian director Madeline Clayton to its roster for Canadian representation.
Recognised for her ability to craft emotionally-driven, compelling narratives, Madeline’s work in the commercial space is characterised by its authentic and vibrant visual language. Prioritising honesty, human emotion and sincerity, her work connects with audiences on a deeper level, and brings a fresh perspective to the roster at ANIMALS.
Paying attention to dialogue and performance, Madeline is able to extract powerful storytelling moments out of actors and non-actors alike, tackling emotionally-charged themes and topics with intimacy and relatability. Her work is visually striking and impactful, and thanks to her thoughtful and carefully refined use of music and sound, often leaves audiences with a genuine and lasting impression.
Based in Brooklyn, New York, Madeline has worked with an array of global brands such as IKEA, Gillette Venus and Maybelline, and has been celebrated at award shows internationally. Her debut professional project, ‘Nineteen’, gained international recognition whilst ‘She’ll Be Right’ for the United Nations won Bronze at Cannes Lions, and a 1.4 Award for Brilliant Filmmaking. Her recent short film, ‘She Said So’ was selected by Sean Baker as a recipient of the Anora x Kodak x NEON short film contest.
