KODE has announced the arrival of Truman & Cooper to their roster for UK representation. With a standout portfolio of commercials and music videos to their name (originated from their favourite Twin Peaks characters), Jonathan and Anthony are incredibly gifted directors. Their authentic approach to filmmaking has won them multiple awards and nominations from 1.4 to the British Arrows, alike.
Gaining immediate international recognition with the release of their first music video ‘Hope’ for Kids Wise, their unfiltered exploration of youthful romanticism and brutality was considered ground breaking. Evoking a shared sense of painful nostalgia amongst juries and audiences, the video was featured in the Saatchi & Saatchi New Creator Showcase and won them the Best New Director Award at the UKMVAs.
Continuing to challenge the boundaries between fiction and reality, Truman & Cooper have crafted an onscreen world that confronts human stories and raw emotions through a cinematic lens. Their originality and bravery has captivated Apple, Porsche, Chevrolet, McDonald's, Skoda, Babbel, Allianz, and Barclays, and secured them projects like the critically acclaimed NSPCC ‘Listen to your selfie’.
Deeply driven by germinating characters from lived experiences, nothing is left up to chance in the casting process “our projects require special attention to casting, which is maybe the stage of filmmaking that we like the most” says Jonathan “what matters to us most is finding people with something unique and special. Feeling someone’s energy and then finding the best way to convey it on film, is something we find exciting and rewarding.” Packing emotionally charged energy into every frame, the pair’s creative choices are never short of extraordinary.
Upon signing with Kode, Truman & Cooper said, “When we started talking to Kode, we instantly got the impression that we were not only speaking with really good producers, but also with people who have a very bright and powerful human energy. We are really excited to open this new chapter with a team that feels as passionate about creating and film making as we are.”
Jack Goodwin, executive producer at Kode, says “We have long admired Jonathan and Anthony’s work, and see them as a key signing to our roster. We love the cinematic qualities they bring to their films, while also maintaining a relatability to the stories they're telling. We’re looking forward to what the future has in store for the duo at Kode.”
