David Stoddart has won an RTS Award for Driven: "The Fastest Woman In The World". The film follows his sister Susie Wolff, whose mission is to become the first woman Formula 1 driver in nearly 40 years. The documentary follows her journey exploring the highs and lows of her year racing and the life-changing moment when she is tested for the Williams F1 racing team. The film features interviews with Lewis Hamilton, David Coulthard and Ralf Schumacher.
“The story of Susie Wolff is documented by a film-maker who doesn’t dodge the uncomfortable moments in a difficult season and is complimented by unrivalled access to big name interviewees and beautifully natural moments between family members.” RTS
David joked and thanked his Mum & Dad for getting drunk in 1981-1982, because without doing so “there would be no documentary”. David and Susie are one year apart. Susie is now the first woman in 22 years to be out in a practice session at an F1 Grand Prix. She recently beat Sebastian Vettel's time in a practice session!
