Black Dog Films director once again teams with FJM to deliver an animation masterclass
On June 1st, Father John Misty released his eagerly anticipated fourth album, ‘God’s Favorite Customer’.
Ahead of the release on Sub Pop, he dropped ‘Please Don’t Die’ from Black Dog director Chris Hopewell.
The video shows Tillman as he descends from the claustrophobic ennui of a hotel room to the glowering depths of the 'Valley of Death'. His obliging host takes him for a punt on the river, showing him the sites before a final shocking revelation.
Josh Tillman AKA Father John Misty has been steadily building an acclaimed body of work, and this stop motion narrative project marks his second collaboration with Black Dog Films director Chris Hopewell.
Their previous award-winning project was for ‘Things It Would Have Been Helpful to Know Before the Revolution’ taken from Tillman’s ‘Pure Comedy’ LP.
