The Chemical Brothers have teamed up with Michel & Olivier Gondry to launch a trippy, surreal music video for the track 'Got to Keep On'.
This funky promo from the Partizan directors takes inspiration from the seventies TV programme ‘Soul Train’. A group of happy and carefree dancers get their groove on in a black studio, creating a striking contrast with the colourful outfits. Combine this nostalgia with the Chemical Brothers’ latest track Got To Keep On, and things start to take a surreal turn.
With the help of some subtle CGI, the dancers’ moves start to become more and more exaggerated. Bouncing hair and swooping legs soon turn into something much more abstract. The end result is unexpected and unnerving, as we discover not everything is as it seems.
The choreography is contagious and well observed by the Gondry brothers; while the overall film has all the quirks of a classic Gondry promo.
