Black Dog Films, The Kusp, and FOMO House team up to launch new four-part series of events

Black Dog Films have teamed up with London-based creative communities The Kusp and FOMO House to curate a series of events connecting and supporting new talent.

The first in the series ‘Vision to Video: Crafting Compelling Music Videos’ will take place at FOMO House Shoreditch and feature insights and practical advice from panellists, Ashley Yun, head of artist strategy at Ninja Tune, Claire Stubbs, music video rep at Mouthpiece, and director Akwasi Poku.

As a not-for-profit social enterprise The Kusp works to improve access for under-represented talent in the creative media industries, working with companies like Black Dog to improve talent development and talent sourcing, and connecting and supporting ethnic minority, and lower socio-economic groups in fashion, film, television, and print media.

Born out of a shared mission to help create pathways and establish sustainable solutions to accessibility, this new collaboration aims to build and springboard a diverse community of creative talent - bridging access to work opportunities via mentorship, masterclasses, and networking.

“At Black Dog we have a proud history of supporting young talent, whether that’s through our annual partnership with the BFI Future Film Festival, our work with festivals outside of London such as Aesthetica, or our collaborations and mentorships with organisations like The Kusp. We’re looking forward to getting this one rolling, if you want to get involved then get in touch.” Martin Roker, global head, Black Dog.

“At The Kusp, we're thrilled to partner with Black Dog Films on this event series. In the creative industries, access to education, insights, and strong networks is essential for success. Yet, talent from underrepresented groups often encounter significant barriers that hinder their progression. That’s why this collaboration is so important - it’s about breaking down those barriers and facilitating potential opportunities in the long-term. Working with companies like Black Dog Film that not only recognise these challenges, but show a commitment to driving change, makes this initiative even more impactful.” Amos Eretusim, founder and MD, The Kusp.
