BBC 6 Music Resident Poet, Murray Lachlan Young, and Ridley Scott Associates director/photographer Gray Hughes have teamed up to create the short film ‘Lycra Dad’. Young’s darkly comic poem celebrates the everyday men, with the film lampooning M.A.M.I.Ls (Middle Aged Men In Lycra).
To mark the film’s release you can nominate your own Lycra dad though the
Lycra Dad Web App… just in time for Father’s Day.
Murray Lachlan Young is a British poet, stand-up performer, broadcaster, playwright, screenwriter and children’s author. He came to prominence during the Brit Pop era of the mid 1990’s, when he became the only poet to sign a contract worth £1m.
Gray Hughes is best known for his photographic work of sporting stars Andy Murray, Jessica Ennis-Hill, Lewis Hamilton, and Conor Benn to name a few. You can view more of Gray’s photographic and moving image work at RSA.
