Aldi Launches ‘Reverse’ Mother’s Day Advert

McCann-created campaign rewinds to the start of every good Mother's day
Supermarket Aldi is set to launch a 30-second Mother’s Day advert in ‘reverse’; the second in the ‘reverse’ series which follows the success of the Valentine’s Day advert from last month. Scheduled to launch on Wednesday 27th March on ITV at 7.15pm, the advert follows the journey of a young girl treating her mum to a Mother’s Day breakfast in bed, along with a gift of flowers and card.

The advert shows luxurious ingredients including fresh smoked salmon and avocado as well as beautiful spring tulips, proving that you can treat mum to the very best this Mother’s Day without breaking the bank.

Produced in reverse, the advert starts with the young girl pampering her mum to breakfast in bed.  Dave Price, creative director at McCann Manchester, said: “This Mother’s Day, we thought we’d sit back, rewind, and show how all roads lead back to Aldi for Mother’s Day.

“A follow on from our Valentine’s Day advert, this advert showcases the special relationship between a mother and her daughter. The time-reversal theme remains a curiously fascinating way to show how the celebration of these special moments begins from the second you select the fresh food, drinks and gifts for your loved ones.”
