You’ll Think Twice about Ignoring Your Mum after this Short Film from Us
We don’t want to give away too much about the penny-drop moment in this funny, twisted and tender short film from directing duo Us, so we’ll keep the plot details short and sweet. Aaron is a sad and shy young man on his way to a group therapy session with a bit of a difference – and it’s bound to bring back childhood memories (or nightmares, if you were of a sensitive nature).
The short was produced by Academy Films and showcases Us’s flair for nuanced humour, storytelling and physical effects. The pair collaborated with prosthetics expert Matthew Smith to build their cast of extraordinary characters. Also involved in making the film were the likes of ETC, Wave and The Assembly Rooms.

Throughout 2017, the film made the official selection at 28 film festivals (with three more in 2018) and the full thing has now been made available online. As an extra treat, there’s also an insightful making-of film that explores the story, the casting and incredible makeup.
