Sleep hacking is racking up millions of views on TikTok and Instagram. In an unexpected fusion of high-speed action and calming soundscapes, duotone and The Lab at Comcast created a concept album for Xfinity—an innovative eight-track album designed to do the unimaginable: help you fall asleep after an adrenaline-filled day. Wanting to prove that super-fast internet can bring you a super-fast way to fall asleep, Comcast leaned on their NASCAR partnership to bring the most adrenaline-filled environment to test their dulcet tones.
The album, titled Fast Asleep, combines ambient soundscapes, reimagined racing audio, and cutting-edge psychoacoustic techniques to create a unique listening experience for racing fans. Each track on Fast Asleep incorporates subtle binaural frequencies—delicately offset waveforms that produce gentle, rhythmic tones—to promote relaxation and restful sleep. duotone’s talented composers, Brad Fischer and Jordan Lieb, have woven these frequencies into lush, calming soundscapes. Authentic race-day sounds have been artfully processed and blended into the mix, creating an immersive experience that retains the energy of the track while lulling listeners into a state of calm.
“When The Lab at Comcast approached us with the idea, we were instantly intrigued,” said Ross Hopman, executive music producer at duotone audio group. “Our goal with Fast Asleep is simple—to offer fans a way to unwind. Whether you’ve spent the day at the races or you’re just looking to take a break from life’s daily race, this album is meant to guide you to a place of tranquillity.”
“Fast Asleep” was released exclusively on Spotify on Friday, September 27th. Listen here.
