Wunderman has hired the former social media producer on The X Factor series, Steve Saul, as its Social Production Lead.
Saul will head up social production across Wunderman’s social and content marketing accounts for Nokia, Shell, Virgin Media Business and Microsoft. He will report into Social Strategy Director, Matt Redman and Head of Project Management Alex Endacott.
Wunderman has hired Saul to boost social production expertise at the agency and further improve the quality, diversity and speed of delivery of content. The move follows the expansion of the agency’s Content Studio due to client demand.
Saul was responsible for digital and social production on five seasons of The X Factor and was a driving force behind many of its innovations.
He also worked in social media production and consultation on many other major TV shows produced by Endemol, the BBC and ITV, such as Britain’s Got Talent, Never Mind The Buzzcocks and Being Human. He started his career fifteen years ago as a writer/researcher with the BBC, and went on to become a comedy sketch writer for Talkback Thames, before going into social media production.
Before joining Wunderman, Saul was the social media producer at Cedar Communications for just over a year. Prior to that, he worked on the BBC supernatural drama Being Human.
Richard Dunn, Wunderman Chief Strategy Officer, said: “Steve has worked on one of the country’s most popular and socially active programmes and brings a wealth of experience from a category that agencies need to learn a lot from. His knowledge and his ability to find the right people for our projects will be a massive asset going forward.”
