A night of celebrations saw Uncommon named most creative agency, Biscuit Filmworks as most creative production company and Electric Theatre Collective as most creative post production company

The Creative Circle today announces the winners of its 2023 awards, following the 78th annual awards ceremony, which closed the third UK Creative Festival.

The ceremony, which took place in Dreamland, Margate saw the year’s best creative work awarded Gold, Silver, Bronze and special prizes in a ceremony hosted by Zoe Lyons.

This year, the awards were more popular than ever, with a record breaking number of entries judged by a jury of cross-industry greats, each Gold winner taking home a bespoke Creative Circle Award, designed and handmade by British designer, Henry Holland.

Apple took home the coveted Gold of Gold award for its powerful campaign, ‘The Greatest’, which showcased the brand’s commitment to accessibility through innovative technology that supports people living with vision, hearing, mobility or cognitive disabilities. The campaign was created in association with production house Somesuch and edited by Trim.

Uncommon Creative Studio was named Most Creative Agency for the fourth year in a row, the title of Most Creative Production Company went to Biscuit Filmworks, whilst Electric Theatre Collective was named Most Creative Post Production Company for the third consecutive year.

Most Creative Editing House went to Final Cut, and Most Creative Sound Design company was awarded 750mph. Finally, the Most Creative Music Video Production Company went to Caviar.

The Creative Circle President’s Award, which recognises a person or organisation that has had the greatest impact on advertising this year, was awarded to Libby Brockhoff. In 1996, Libby co-founded Mother, one of London’s most coveted independent agencies, and went on to co-found Odysseus Arms in 2011.

Gabriela Scardaccione, chief magic officer, ScienceMagic and Creative Circle president commented, “Libby has impacted the UK Creative industry and the Global Advertising scene in ways that go beyond the work. At the age of 27 when Libby joined Mother as a partner, she had the wisdom to know that the best creativity and the most innovative ideas need a safe environment that allows vulnerability. She was key in setting up a playground where everything seemed possible, where creatives were allowed to play and would never feel judged for their ideas. A place where building relationships was the measurement for success. A place that allowed everyone – including clients - to keep learning, about advertising and about life. And she came up with the best name an advertising agency could have ever dreamt of: Mother. If there is such a thing as the mother of Mother, that’s Libby Brockhoff.”

Jeremy Green, managing director of the Creative Circle and Founder of UKCF, comments, “Every year, our jurors set the bar higher and higher, and this year was incredibly tough. The calibre of entries was exceptional and thanks to close scrutiny from our judges, the 2023 winners are a reflection of some of the greatest creative talent the UK has to offer right now. But, more importantly, our goal at the Creative Circle Awards is not only to celebrate our industry but to close the circle and use the UKCF, Creative Circle Awards and the Creative Foundation as a platform to create greater inclusivity for the next generation. A huge thanks to all who support this work by purchasing tickets and donating to the foundation - all of which goes towards funding our student cohort at UKCF. Without the support of these great companies, our work would not be possible.”

Once again, Creative Circle had pledged 10% of all award entry fees and 100% of membership fees to support greater diversity in the creative departments of the future through the Creative Foundation. The UK Creative Festival is also pledging its profits to the Creative Foundation.
