For the first-time ever, the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day was given the star treatment as Macy’s deemed it the “Week of Wonderful” with special savings and new merchandise
Debuting on Monday, December 24, Clinton Kelly stared in Macy’s Week of Wonderful song and dance TV spot directed by Adam Shankman
This season, the seven days between Christmas and New Year’s Day were a magical time for Macy’s shoppers as the retailer deemed it the “Week of Wonderful.”
From December 26 through January 1, Macy’s Week of Wonderful will serve post-holiday shoppers with the opportunity to indulge in super savings and new must-haves items. Traditionally a national vacation week when many people take time off from the workplace, the week is also one of the busiest for retailers. With Macy’s Week of Wonderful, special savings and brand new deliveries of merchandise await shoppers who will be wowed and delighted by what’s in store.
“The week between Christmas and New Year’s Day has always been about great deals, as customers exchange gift items and start using the gift cards they received over the holidays to hunt for last minute bargains,” said Martine Reardon, Macy’s chief marketing officer. “With Macy’s Week of Wonderful, we want to make shopping during this vacation week even more fun and satisfying for customers. At Macy’s, shoppers will find all the amazing savings on post-holiday merchandise we are known for, in addition to finding our stores refreshed with new, bright and colorful must-have items.”
To bring the WOW to the Week of Wonderful, Macy’s will debut a new television spot on Monday, December 24, helmed by acclaimed director, producer and choreographer, Adam Shankman (Hairspray, Glee, So You Think You Can Dance). The colorful song and dance spot starring Clinton Kelly continues the sitcom-themed format that Macy’s debuted this fall, as Macy’s Herald Square store manager Harold asks Clinton Kelly if he has any fun ideas about Macy’s Week of Wonderful. Clinton’s colorful imagination transports them into a Broadway-like world complete with WOW girls, dancing gift cards and a showstopping closing. Touching upon the notion that the week, unlike Black Friday and Cyber Monday, has never had a name, Clinton tells viewers all about Macy’s Week of Wonderful and what they can expect – from super savings to the opportunity to exchange grandma’s sweater for something better, Macy’s is the destination for WOW moments after Christmas.
The Week of Wonderful TV spot was developed by Macy’s in conjunction with JWT New York.
Customers will find the WOW Factor in new merchandise including essentials and bright, colorful must-haves for the entire family.
