Watch Ricky Gervais Spoof House of Cards, Sopranos & More for Netflix

Netflix’s timing was spot on during the Emmys last night, as the streaming service’s wonderful new spot with Ricky Gervais was broadcast minutes after the British comedian was ridiculed by host Jimmy Kimmel. When discussing Matthew McConaughey’s ‘movie star face’, he proceeded to mock Gervais for having “not even really a television face - it’s a Netflix face”. 

The spot features Gervais imagining himself as the lead in his favourite Netflix shows. "You know when you're watching your favourite Netflix show, and after five straight episodes, you want to be in it?" he says. 

He adds that trademark British accent and sarcasm to Kevin Spacey in House of Cards, Orange Is The New Black’s Taylor Schilling, and the late great James Gandolfini of The Sopranos.
