VCCP are delighted to announce that Dan Bowers, Head of Planning at digital agency Weapon7, will be joining the agency in March in the role of senior planner.
The hiring of Bowers forms part of VCCP's restructuring of the planning department to increase its integrated capabilities in digital, direct response, experience design and data strategy.
Bowers joined Weapon7 back in June 2008 and rose to become Head of Planning in April 2010. He has worked on award winning digital work across clients such as Mercedes-Benz, smart, Mind Charity, DHL, and The Natural Confectionery Company. Standout work includes the digital launch of The Natural Confectionery Company in the UK, the launch of the Mercedes-Benz super car the SMS AMG and Weapon7’s first ever cinema campaign for smart car.
Michael Lee, Executive Planning Director at VCCP, said: "Dan's a very exciting new senior hire for us. He comes with an outstanding record for delivering highly innovative digital campaigns and using data insightfully. We're confident he will have a huge impact at VCCP". Dan will be part of a senior team responsible for O2's overall brand strategy, with specific focus on O2's increasing investment in digital campaigns.
Bowers said: "It was an easy decision to join VCCP. It's a really dynamic, genuinely integrated culture and getting the opportunity to work on an exceptional brand like O2 was a huge draw".
In September last year Michael Lee rejoined VCCP as the Executive Planning Director after two years at Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO. He replaced Tracey Follows, who left VCCP to join JWT London as its Chief Strategy Officer and Executive Partner.
