The agency successfully defended the account following the success of the ‘Progress for All’ brand platform, LBB’s Tom Loudon reports

Howatson+Company has been reappointed to the UNSW Sydney account.

After a competitive procurement process, the agency will continue to partner with the university across media, creative, and production, having first been appointed for media in 2022, followed by creative and production in 2023.

Executive director of marketing and digital experience at UNSW, Sofia Lloyd-Jones, said, “Howatson+Company are highly valued partners, working alongside our team to deliver tangible impact for UNSW. Their sector knowledge, future-focused approach to data and innovation has been invaluable to UNSW.”

Howatson+Company CEO Chris Howatson added, “It’s a privilege to continue our partnership with UNSW. Sofia and the team are driving an ambitious strategy, and we cherish our role in bringing it to life in comms.”

Last year, UNSW launched its ‘Progress for All’ brand platform, presenting UNSW as a community committed to driving positive societal change that benefits everyone, detailing real examples of UNSW innovations, including expanding access to education and advances in clean energy and healthcare.

The platform was developed through an extensive, evidence-based and collaborative approach to clarify what is central to the university and the impact it has in the world.

Howatson+Company chief media officer Sasha Smith said, “We’re incredibly proud of the results we’ve achieved across Australia and Asia Pacific with the UNSW team and are excited by what the future holds in this next chapter of our partnership.”

UNSW, a global top 20 university, concluded the year with impressive results exceeding its targets for domestic and international student enrolments.

The partnership renewal caps off a significant growth period for the agency, which also won Myer’s creative and production accounts, as LBB revealed in January.

The indie has also appointed former CHEP CSO Lilian Sor, who will join the agency as chief strategy officer, and creative directors Letizia Bozzolini and Justin Butler.

LBB also revealed the appointment of former DDB strategy partner Katharina Wynne, who will report to Lilian as executive strategy director.
