UNIT worked with Monks to captivate Londoners with breath taking 3D holographic images in Shoreditch activation

UNIT, the Fitzrovia based boutique Shortform and Longform Studio is thrilled to have collaborated with Samsung Mobile and Monks on the surprise teaser activation in Shoreditch, London announcing the annual Galaxy Unpacked event, which took place in California on 22 January. 

Londoners were captivated as breath taking 3D holographic images illuminated the night on a massive 65 x 50 ft transparent micro LED display bringing the world of Galaxy AI to life. A majestic blue whale appeared to glide through the sky along with displays of the shimmering northern lights, vibrant flowers blooming in a burst of colour, a footballer scoring a winning goal and concluded with lanterns casting a warm glow across the winter sky.

The spectacle encouraged people to look up from their screens, sparking global buzz as passers by shared their awe online, offering a preview of what’s to come: the next evolution of the Galaxy AI mobile experience, set to change the way people interact with the world every day.

Samsung’s transparent micro LED displays are also reshaping the boundaries of digital technology, offering a near-holographic viewing experience that blurs the line between content and reality. With ultra-thin designs and exceptional pixel density, these revolutionary displays create the illusion of content floating mid-air, delivering sharp, immersive visuals. 

Working with the Monks agency, the Samsung activation campaign was directed by Dean G. Moore. In coordination with production company brand Yew and UK supervising producer Jamie Miller, US supervising producer Chad Baron and executive producer Santini Sladavic, the UNIT team worked closely in bringing their expertise in Colour, Online / VFX, and Sound to the project, showcasing their commitment to delivering top-tier creative solutions. 

UNIT producer Tania De Sousa and UNIT executive producer Phil McCluney led the UNIT team in completing the ambitious project with Grade and Online completed in just one afternoon. UNIT colourist Harry Shelton, Online / VFX Fraser Cleland and Rob Ellis, and Sound Designer Jamie Thomas worked together to craft stunning visuals and immersive soundscapes that captured the futuristic essence of Samsung's revolutionary Galaxy AI. 

Samsung’s advancements in transparent MICRO LED technology represent a significant leap forward, merging cutting-edge craftsmanship with years of dedicated research to redefine how audiences engage with visual content.

The Samsung campaign underscores UNIT Studios’ reputation for excellence and adaptability, demonstrating their ability to elevate brands and creative visions through technical skill and artistic innovation.
