UNIT Film & TV Delivers Online VFX for Guy Ritchie’s MOBLAND Streaming on Paramount+

UNIT Film & TV, the Fitzrovia-based independent creative studio, provided Online VFX for Guy Ritchie’s highly anticipated crime drama series MOBLAND. Commissioned by Paramount+ and produced by 101 Studios, Showtime / MTV Entertainment Studios, and Hardy, Son & Baker, the 10-episode series stars Tom Hardy, Helen Mirren, and Pierce Brosnan, and is available to stream on Paramount+.

Created by award-winning writer Ronan Bennett and director and executive producer Guy Ritchie, MOBLAND follows a deadly power struggle between two warring London crime families, the Harrigans and the Stevensons. As the series unfolds, viewers are taken through a tense narrative of betrayal, power, and survival, set against the backdrop of London’s underworld.

MOBLAND was directed by Anthony Byrne, Guy Ritchie, Lawrence Gough, and Daniel Syrkin and executive produced by Keith Cox, Nina L. Diaz, David C. Glasser, Guy Ritchie, Jez Butterworth, Ronan Bennett, Kris Thykier, Ivan Atkinson, Tom Hardy, Dean Baker, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin and Bob Yari.

MOBLAND stars Tom Hardy as Harry Da Souza, the street-smart fixer caught in the middle of a dangerous power struggle. He navigates a world where loyalty is fleeting and allegiances shift with deadly consequences. Helen Mirren portrays Maeve Harrigan, the 'brains behind the charm' of her husband Conrad Harrigan, played by Pierce Brosnan, the ruthless crime boss at the head of the family, fighting for control within a global crime syndicate. As rival empires clash, boundaries will be pushed, and the ultimate constant is a life-or-death promise: family comes first.

UNIT Film and TV worked closely with the series’ VFX supervisor Stephen Coren to deliver seamless Online VFX, enhancing the series’ dramatic tension and visceral action sequences. Led by UNIT VFX producer Tania De Sousa with online VFX lead Fraser Cleland, and Additional Online VFX Artists Rob Ellis, Ben North, Ian Baker and Alec Eves, the team meticulously crafted visual elements that heightened the intense atmosphere of MOBLAND, ensuring every moment matched the raw energy of the narrative.

MOBLAND is Commissioned by Paramount+, Produced in Association with Showtime / MTV Entertainment Studios, 101 Studios, and Hardy, Son & Baker. The series is distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution. MOBLAND premiered on 30th March 2025 exclusively on Paramount+ in the U.K., U.S., Canada, and Australia. A global rollout will take place later this year.
