Wimbledon Film and TV Studios and Roll To Record's first joint project

Wimbledon Film and TV Studios and Roll To Record have completed their first joint project, ‘The Angel’, for Twofour. The 5x60min production for Sky 1 HD is due for transmission in summer 2012. Roll To Record previously worked with Twofour on the hugely successful observational documentary ‘Educating Essex’ for Channel 4.

Roll To Record is the supplier of technical infrastructure and crew to Wimbledon Film and TV Studios, London’s newest TV studio, which offers SD or full HD and 5.1 audio recording facilities plus production offices and other high spec studio facilities, with each installation tailored to the specific needs of any show. Equipment supplied on ‘The Angel’, recorded in front of a studio audience, included Sony HDC-1500 HD cameras, BRC Hot Head cameras and Sony VTs.

Jo Taylor, ProductionExecutive, Twofour, said, “Wimbledon Film and TV Studios and Roll To Record provided us with a bespoke technical set up made especially with our seriesrequirements in mind.”

Mick Bass, Commercial Director, Roll To Record, said, “It’s great to work with Twofour again, and particularly exciting to do so in conjunction with Wimbledon Studios. Our technical expertise and knowledgeable crew teamed with Wimbledon Studios’ excellent facilities provide an unbeatable combination for any production.”

Piers Read, Managing Director, Wimbledon Film and TV Studios, said, "To have completed a major new series for Twofour and such a high profile series for Sky is testament to the quality of the TV studio and our team here. We're delighted they're so happy with the experience and are excited about attracting otherlight entertainment shows to Wimbledon in the near future."

‘The Angel’ gives would-be entrepreneurs the chance to compete for £100,000 worth of investment from billionaire businessman John Caudwell, the man behind Phones4U. The six contestants – each carefully chosen for character, contrast and, of course, their great business idea – will be put under extreme pressure throughout a series of rounds, specifically designed to test The Angel’s six golden business attributes; drive, ambition, passion, resilience, commercial intellect and leadership.
