Award-winning editors join the team

The Quarry is delighted to announce new signings Mikkel EG Nielsen and Mark Whelan to their editing house roster for commercials and features.

Danish editor Mikkel EG Nielsen has enjoyed a close collaboration with Academy’s Martin de Thurah and has worked on a number of high profile campaigns for Thomson, M&S, and most recently Camelot’s Olympics with AMV BBDO. His compelling feature film “A Royal Affair”, written and directed by Nikolaj Arcel (Girl with a Dragon Tattoo) and starring Mads Mikkelson (Casino Royale) won two awards at the Berlin Film Festival and is in cinemas this week.

Mark Whelan has recently won an Art Directors Club award in film editing for Heimat Berlin’s “Battle” A.T.U  with Chris Turner (Hungry Man/BigFish). The Chemical Brothers “Don’t Think”, directed by RSA’s Adam Smith, is to be part of a live interactive experience with adidas on August 3rd.  Released in 600 cinemas in 30 countries worldwide in February, this “psychedellic classic” (Mojo) was hailed as a “neckbreaking tour de force to behold” in Rolling Stones whilst the Guardian’s Alexis Petridis called it “one of the best films about dance music ever made".

Founded in 1993 by Bruce Townend and Paul Watts, The Quarry now houses 12 editors which include Jonnie Scarlett, Scott Crane, Scott Cato, Owen Oppenheimer, Anne Perri, Ted Guard, Sylvie Landra and Elliot Graham.
