Mayda announces a multi-disciplinary director and visual artist Toby Pike as the newest addition to our collective. Known for his bold, boundary-pushing work across film, design, and experiential storytelling, Toby brings a unique blend of technical mastery and emotive storytelling to Mayda, where he will be represented in the US and Canada.
Toby’s career has been anything but ordinary. From directing music videos and immersive concert experiences to crafting cinematic campaigns for Sony, Nike, Disney, and Lexus, his work blends technology, design and film craft with human emotion. His projects span commercial, music, and experiential, combining traditional craft with technology and immersive narrative techniques to create memorable visual and experiential work. Toby’s creativity has been recognised with accolades from Cannes Lions, D&AD, and Vimeo Staff Picks, among others.
"I’ve always been drawn to projects that challenge conventional storytelling and blur the lines between mediums” Toby shared. “Joining Mayda feels like a natural fit, and I’m excited to collaborate with a team that shares my passion for innovation and craft”
Mayda is equally thrilled to have him on board. Mayda ECD Carl Addy commented, “Toby is a true innovator. His ability to grasp the intricacies of technology and craft whilst never losing sight of the human connection sets him apart. We’re excited to see how his multidisciplinary approach will elevate the work we do together”.
Toby’s background is as diverse as his portfolio. He started in design and post-production, co-founding the acclaimed studio Toby & Pete. There, he produced immersive live shows and installations for artists like Flume, Rufus Du Sol and Flight Facilities. Since then, he’s cemented his place as a multidisciplinary director, delivering technically complex projects that captivate and surprise. From chasing tornados for documentary shoots to designing live music experiences, Toby is a natural storyteller with an eye for detail and a flair for creating visuals that evoke a sense of wonder.
