Following a four-way pitch, TCP-TBWA\ Indonesia was appointed by TelkomVision (a leading Pay TV operator under Telkom Indonesia) as its marketing consultant for their acquisition program.
The pay-TV competition in the country is heating up but the market has enormous growth potential. In fact, Indonesia will be the focus of Cable and Satellite Broadcasters’ Association of Asia (CASBAA) in-depth forum to be held in Jakarta this week, on February 29.
CASBAA recently reported, “The Indonesian economy grew by 6.5 percent in Q4 2011, a level not seen since before the 1990s Asian crisis – and the media economy is growing even faster with the country's pay-TV industry recently passing the two million subscriber mark. With growth spurred by innovative pricing strategies, higher quality content and new advertising strategies, there is plenty of room to expand as new players enter the landscape... but competition could be tough.”
Roche Vandenberghe, TCP-TBWA’s General Manager commented, “TelkomVision has been very aggressive for last couple of years. As a proof, they were even recognized last December by the Museum Rekor Indonesia (MURI) as the pay-TV company with the highest sales growth (800%) within one year. Our team is delighted to be working on this aggressive goal with them.”
Gandhi Suryoto, TCP-TBWA Executive Creative Director expressed, “It’s good to see the competition amongst pay-TV providers. Now, it’s nice to work on it. From the creative standpoint, it’s interesting to experience its services as we have been exposed to other pay-TV providers, or even became their customer.”
