TBWA\TEQUILA\Hong Kong ignites buzz for Social Media Week with the ‘Socializer’
To connect conversations taking place on Twitter and Sina Weibo during Social Media Week Hong Kong (SMWHK), TBWA\TEQUILA\Hong Kong have developed a web-based conversation tracker called the ‘Socializer.’
SMWHK will be taking the city’s digital scene by storm with a series of events discussing emerging trends in social and mobile media.
The ‘Socializer’, created and powered by TBWA\TEQUILA\Hong Kong, organises social conversations taking place under individual event hash tags into bubbles that grow with the amount of online buzz happening at each event.
“Consumer behaviour is shifting rapidly as more people use digital devices and platforms to connect. We are very excited to be part of the buzz and bringing the conversation to the fore,” says Joanne Lao, Managing Director TBWA\TEQUILA\Hong Kong.
On the ‘Socializer’, users can explore event categories to view specific event-related tweets from both Sina Weibo and Twitter and find out what’s happening in the lead-up to the event and in real time.
“With the Socializer, we wanted to provide a platform for the wealth of social conversations that take place during Social Media Week Hong Kong,” explains Jocelyn Liipfert, who heads social media initiatives at TBWA\TEQUILA\Hong Kong and who is also a member of the SMWHK Advisory Board. “Built in HTML5, Socializer is not only a showcase of our talent in digital innovation but will be accessible to all SMWHK attendees via browsers on laptops, smartphones and iPads.”
Media Week is a multi-city global conference connecting people, content and conversations around emerging trends in social and mobile media. The mission of Social Media Week Hong Kong is to open up conversation about social media in Asia Pacific, with a focus on Hong Kong and China, through a series of creative events that connect brands, marketers, media, and the public unique venues across the city. The event will take place in 2012 from 13-17 February.
