At the 2015 CLIO Image Awards on Tuesday night, TBWA\Santiago Mangada Puno won a Grand CLIO in the out-of-home category for its ‘HANA Water Billboard’ campaign.
TBWA\Santiago Mangada Puno launched the creative outdoor campaign for Shokubutsu HANA, in an effort to help clean Manila’s extremely polluted Pasig River.
HANA, the Japanese natural cosmetics brand, believes in ‘healthy beauty brought about by the restorative power of nature’, and therefore created an 88-foot long billboard made of vetiver – a grass that absorbs deadly toxins.
Vetiver is often used to treat wastewater and landfills, and the billboard can cleanse up to 8,000 gallons a day. More than sending a brand message, the billboards were setting an example to the community.
CLIO Image honours the most creative work in the style, fashion, and beauty industries.
