Soundspot, created by F/Nazca Saatchi & Saatchi for the Brazilian beer brand Skol, gives people the power to define places with music. It enables discovering, sharing and creating sound identities for locations. Users simply drop a song on a specific place on the map and anyone with the app can listen to it.
People can choose from over 30 million songs from Deezer’s library, and tag it to any place in the city. Sharing with others what they are listening at a location like a street, an art gallery, a graffiti on the wall, or a moment like a friend's party. In the future, this app will reveal the musical map of cities and areas.
Theo Rocha, agency Creative Director, says the app has an organic progress, “The project will keep adapting to user’s clicks. We will continue working on it like in a startup. The final product will be shaped by everyone using the app.”
The launch also involves partnerships with Vice magazine and some fresh Brazilian music ambassadors, like Karol Conka, Dj Marky and Kondzilla. They, along with several other influencers, graffiti artists, skaters, DJs and night life personalities, are tagging songs to their favorite places in the country.
The download is free and is available for desktop and mobile (iOS and Android).
