With the summer of sport well underway, there’s one all too familiar occurrence that could still threaten to spoil the fun – the great British weather. Stella Artois, the Official Beer of Wimbledon, is ensuring that even a rainy day doesn’t dampen the mood with their ‘When it Rains, We Pour’ campaign.
David Beckham, Stella Artois’ new global ambassador and Wimbledon regular, featured in the campaign video which launched on Stella Artois’ social pages last week. The campaign allows fans nationwide to claim their free pint of Stella Artois in cashback if rain stops play on Wimbledon Centre Court. When the court covers come on at the Wimbledon Championships, Stella Artois will cover the cost of up to 10,000 pints. The offer will be available at select participating pubs nationwide throughout the Wimbledon Championships (1st – 14th July 2024).
As part of the campaign, Stella Artois today unveiled an interactive stunt which pays tribute to the renowned moment when the court covers are pulled on if rain stops play at the Wimbledon Championships. A brand ambassador wearing official Wimbledon kit will pull the cover across a giant billboard covered in green astroturf revealing a QR code and the ‘When It Rains, We Pour’ message. The public can scan the QR code to find out how they can claim cashback for their pint of Stella Artois, if rain stops play at the Wimbledon Championships.
