Baltimore native Sheldon Candis is a graduate of the prestigious USC School of Cinematic Arts. Sheldon’s feature directorial debut LUV was an official selection in the 2012 Sundance Film Festival Dramatic Competition. Sheldon has also directed the feature length documentary Baltimore Boys for the prestigious ESPN Films banner, Who Will Survive America for the AMC Networks/ Sundance Now Doc Club original series Take 5: Justice in America, When the Lights Are Brightest for Springhill Entertainment and recently, Colin in Black & White (which chronicles the early wonder years of civil rights activist and cultural icon athlete Colin Kaepernick) for Netflix.
Sheldon has been equally prolific in advertising, having directed work for Amazon, Ford, Microsoft, Deloitte, Wells Fargo, Dove, Walmart, Under Armour, and many other clients.
What fascinates Sheldon about directing commercials is “…the idea that you can not only entertain and engage people, but you can also educate. The most important thing isn’t just selling a product, it’s about selling an emotion.”
