Barking Owl, the world’s leading provider of music and sound for Fortune 500 and blue-chip brands has hired Meg Ochs as a sound designer and mixer. Meg will be based out of Barking Owl’s New York office.
With nearly ten years of experience in sound design and mixing, Meg has contributed to award-winning projects, including multiple Emmy-winning spots like the NFL’s 'Run With It.' Originally from Speedway, Indiana, she graduated from the Jacobs School of Music in 2017 before beginning her career at LIME Studios in Santa Monica, CA, as an assistant. There, she refined her skills under top industry professionals, working on major campaigns and developing a deep expertise in sound design, music editing, and dialogue clean up.
As a full-time engineer, Meg has tackled high-profile projects such as Google’s 'Black-Owned Friday' and Apple Music’s 'Usher: 30 Years in the Making.' Her passion for all things audio and commitment to delivering high-quality work make her an exciting addition to the Barking Owl team.
“Barking Owl’s reputation for excellence in sound design and mixing is something I’ve admired for a long time,” said Meg. “The New York studio, combined with the company’s leadership and incredibly talented team, creates an inspiring environment where I can continue to push creative boundaries. I’m excited to be part of this crew and contribute to the innovative work they’re known for.”
“Meg is a phenomenal addition to Barking Owl,” said Kirkland Alexander Lynch, CEO of Barking Owl. “Her experience working on major campaigns, her technical expertise, and her collaborative spirit make her an incredible asset to our team. She has a sharp creative sensibility and the ability to elevate projects with her sound design and mix skills. We’re thrilled to have her on board and can’t wait to see the impact she’ll make.”
Meg has already hit the ground running, working with several of Barking Owl’s clients including with the teams and agencies that spearhead Comcast, Jimmy John’s, Meta, and Warner Brothers. As the company continues to grow and push the boundaries of audio storytelling, the addition of Meg further strengthens its position as an industry leader.
Barking Owl was recently recognised as Sound Company of the Year at the 2024 CICLOPE Festival and its work has been shortlisted in four different award categories for the 2025 British Arrows Awards, further cementing its status as a global powerhouse in the industry.
