Manhattan-based audio mixing and music supervision company, Sonic Union, tackled more than their usual sound work last week. They planned and executed their 4th Annual “Assistants Party” that doubled as both a mixer for budding industry professionals and a relief event for areas hit the hardest by super-storm Sandy.
Assistant producers and assistant editors from over 30 different editorial houses and ad agencies gained entrance to the event by bringing along at least one item to donate to relief efforts. Sonic Union also pledged a donation of $20.00 per attendee of the event, and with over 150 attendees, $3,000.00+ was donated by Sonic Union.
Charities receiving monetary and material aide from the social benefit included recovery organisation site Staten Island Recovers, volunteer-based direct action group Rockaway Renegades and NYC umbrella animal welfare organisation NYC Animal Alliance.
