Sohonet, the global experts in media collaboration, will have a significant presence at the HPA Tech Retreat in Palm Springs, Calf, taking place from Feb.16-19, 2024. The HPA Tech Retreat continues to be one of the most important events in the production industry.
In addition to demonstrations, Sohonet’s experts will be moderating roundtable sessions including, “What does zero trust actually mean?” led by Patrick Sumby and “Cuts, dailies, mix, colour reviews: it’s all the same, right?” moderated by Brandon Bussinger.
In the HPA Tech Retreat Innovation Zone, the curated area where the latest and most important technologies are on demonstration, Sohonet will present an overview of its compelling technologies that support our global community of Storytellers:
Launching later this year, ClearView Rush reimagines the classic ‘streaming dailies’ experience, focused squarely on solving the asset review needs of a modern studio. ClearView Rush is part of the expanded suite of studio tools born from Sohonet’s acquisition of 5th Kind. Looking ahead, Rush will take on the most critical review experiences for studio teams from concept development to locked cut, and through deep integration of the Sohonet suite of tools, improving the overall asset pipeline across productions, studios, vendors, and partner teams.
Sohonet is set to unveil ClearView Flex on AWS, empowering creative teams to seamlessly stream content from AWS workstations via an Amazon Machine Image (AMI). This advancement means that ClearView Flex can now operate on a virtual machine in a choice of cloud-based environments including AWS, Azure, and VMware (for private cloud usage). Productions now have access to the same rock solid performance for which ClearView Flex is renowned but with greater flexibility in how they operate.
Sohonet is set to showcase FileRunner, a reimagined file transfer application designed specifically for creative teams seeking a seamless, user-friendly, and cost-effective solution for sharing their media files. FileRunner optimises media files and studio-grade security, allowing users to share files of unlimited size through the browser with no plug-ins, software, or server instals. It features data traceability, unlimited and fully encrypted transfers, audit logs, reporting, and 2FA options.
Chuck Parker, CEO of Sohonet noted, “HPA’s Tech Retreat is the most important technical event for our creative industry. With a focus on industry technology leaders and full of thoughtful conversations and knowledge sharing, it is the cornerstone of education and networking for video production professionals.”
