Joint report from Kurio and thenetworkone sees online sessions on 19th January discuss the key findings of the report and the reasons behind them

A major new report is jointly published today, by Kurio, the leading social media agency in the Nordic countries and thenetworkone, the world’s largest independent agencies network.

It’s the result of unfiltered new research among top agency social media experts in 21 countries, with all five continents well represented: Asia, Europe, Africa North America and South America.

The 133-page report identifies major new global trends in social media and influencer marketing – as well as regional differences in major markets such as China, and specialist areas such as healthcare.

For sure, it covers some of the expected ground: the rise of the creator economy, the metaverse(s), and how the pandemic has brought an older audience to social media platforms.

But some more surprising themes are emerging, including:

  • Why TikTok is overtaking Instagram
  • How social media is becoming more communities-based (and why Brands need to re-learn skills from earlier days)
  • How Pharma is moving social media focus, from edu-cation to edu-tainment
  • Where and why ‘In-house meets influencers’ – and where this leaves agencies?

It also includes some thought-provoking and divergent points of view on questions all brands and agencies are asking themselves:

  • Campaigns versus always-on
  • Influencers versus brand ambassadors
  • whether content or channel is the right starting point, in planning a social strategy.

Should every brand owner and agency you read this report? Yes, they should. It’s the grass-roots, independently observed truth, rather than a view politicised by governments, lobbyists, media and platform owners, or the big public agency holding companies.

Online Launch Events – Wednesday 19th January

Jari Lahdevuori and Elli Tuominen, creative partner and strategy partner at Kurio, who edited the report - will also host a one-hour online presentation of the key findings and the reasons behind them, and what they mean in practical terms for agencies and brand owners. Every media planner, creator and strategist, marketer and media professional should be on this webinar.

It’s free of charge. There are two sessions: one for participants from Asia, at 15.00 Singapore; and one for EMEA and Americas at 15.00 London / 10.00 New York..
