Bollywood star Boman Irani plays an exaggerated version of his public persona in this jokey campaign for the ŠKODA Kodiaq, devised by Publicis Ambience in India.
The 45-second commercial focuses on the reasonable price of the car, low maintenance costs and warranty offer, while deriving humour from Boman trying to exploit his celebrity status.
The actor, who is known for his comedic roles and often plays villains, is the star of successful Indian films such as ‘3 Idiots’, ‘Munna Bhai M.B.B.S’ and ‘Don 2’.
The aim of the campaign is to highlight the “peace of mind” that comes with every ŠKODA, reinforcing the lack of hassle for those owning one, not just in the showroom but also after the sale.
The film is a central part of a campaign running for five weeks across TV, digital, print and out of home.
The Czech car brand, which has been owned by Volkswagen since 1991, has been in India for two decades now.
