Similar But Different's latest music video ‘Live Forever’ for Liam Payne off his debut solo album LP1 captures the essence of the lyrics 'live fast, die young' depicting an adrenaline filled pursuit of risk. The video is reflective of the labour of love that went into the making of the album and you can feel Liam's passion on screen.
Inspired by the propulsive and kinetic energy of the track, the duo (comprised of Charlotte Fassler and Dani Girdwood) tapped into a grittier, unseen side to Liam. The performance is internal and raw. The viewer feels the same sense of danger and euphoria that he experiences in the video.
Visually characterised by its cinematic, textured aesthetic, Similar But Different alongside director of photography (Aaron Reid) and production designer (Lucie Red), utilised a precise visual language highlighted by the use of drones, high frame rates and clear but clever camera movements. Shot on the Isle of Wight and Dorset Coast, the remote locations feel unplaceable and otherworldly and serve as the perfect backdrop.
"With the wind, rain, and every curve ball that came our way Liam was such a trooper and really hustled through tough conditions. It was a real collaboration on all fronts to dig into a different vibe for Liam to go alongside his first major solo album." said Charlotte and Dani.
