Shaken Udder Appoints Quiet Storm to Drive Major Growth Strategy

It is the first time the British milkshake brand has appointed an agency of record

Quiet Storm has won premium milkshake brand Shaken Udder following a competitive pitch against an undisclosed agency. The founder-led business has appointed the agency as part of a significant change to its strategy that aims to drive a step change in growth over the next two years.

The new campaign, worth approximately £2.5m, will bring a much needed sense of fun and positivity to the milkshake category. It will break in the second half of this year. Previously, the brand has focused its marketing on events, sampling and tactical advertising, but the new strategy will be supported across multiple channels. 

It is the first time Shaken Udder, which first launched in 2004 on the festival circuit, has appointed an agency to work as a strategic partner. Six agencies took part in chemistry meetings, three were sent requests for a proposal with only two going on to a strategic workshop as the final stage for selection. The pitch was run internally. 

Trevor Robinson OBE, founder and executive creative director at Quiet Storm said, “We had great chemistry with the Shaken Udder team from the first meeting. Milkshakes are too often overlooked as a key snacking option for that mid-morning or mid-afternoon pick-me-up. Together we’re hoping to shake up the category and inject some fun into it.”

Shaken Udder has significantly outperformed the milkshake category since its launch. According to Nielsen figures, Shaken Udder is now worth £23.6m +19% YoY (+£3.8m)* in retail sales making it the No 1 premium milkshake in the UK. The range is also compliant with HFSS regulations.
