The ‘Make yourself unstoppable’ film was designed to appeal to a new generation of Strellson-wearing men, and released on what would have been the 70th birthday of Queen’s late frontman Freddie Mercury (5 September 2016). Star Music Producer MNEK’s contemporary version of the seminal Queen song ‘Don’t Stop Me Now’ was commissioned specifically for the soundtrack. The film was conceived as a unique way of promoting the Strellson Autumn/ Winter 2016 collection, and perfectly defined a new attitude for the brand that reflected its contemporary image and captured the uniqueness of the Strellson customer. With cinematic direction from Wolf & Lamm (Joffrey Jans and Kai Kurve), and slick production by Wanda and Neverest, the surreal film features a flamboyant lead character dressed in Strellson suiting, on a journey through a bizarre world full of unexpected obstacles. The fantastical music video reflects the campaign message: ‘Make Yourself Unstoppable’.
The concept was devised by advertising agency Serviceplan Campaign X with the managing directors Christina Antes (consulting) and Hans-Peter Sporer (creation) and their team. MNEK’s cover version of the Queen song “Don’t Stop Me Now” was released officially on all major streaming platforms. The English singer/songwriter, who has previously worked with such big names as Beyoncé, Rudimental and Kylie Minogue, composed a new take on the old classic with the same unstoppable drive as the text itself.
