It is with great excitement RSA and Black Dog Films can announce, with immediate effect, the signing of award-winning South African director Terence Neale for commercials and music video representation in the UK and US.
Terence, born and raised in Johannesburg, began shooting commercials with Egg Productions in 2008; quietly building a reel of striking, bold, visual work, with a noticeable thread of the macabre and the absurd running throughout. After directing commercials for the likes of KFC, Nandos, and Halls, Terence broke into popular culture in 2012 with the incredible narrative music video (and creative collaboration) with the notorious Die Antwoord for “Baby’s On Fire”. The pastel-shaded video follows the crazy love-interest antics of the two artists. “Baby’s On Fire” was followed swiftly by the dark and animalistic “Fatty Boom Boom” – raising his global profile further.
Terence’s most recent project – a music video for Skrillex’s “Ragga Bomb” – features dueling waste trolley surfers in a post-apocalyptic, sci-fi, Johannesburg landscape. It has garnered global plaudits, millions of online hits and confirmed Terence as one of today’s most relevant film visionaries.
"We've been inspired for quite some time by Terence's cerebral visual storytelling," says RSA President Jules Daly. "Of course, we jumped at the chance to add him to the RSA and Black Dog team. We look forward to seeing what ongoing creative collaborations will unfold and undoubtedly continue to provide us with inspiration."
