Rethink Names Mike Dubrick Chief Creative Officer, Toronto

Following another record year of growth and accolades, Rethink has named Mike Dubrick as chief creative officer, Toronto.

Serving as executive creative director since 2020, Mike has led Toronto’s creative department in the development of some of their most globally-recognised work for some of the agency’s major accounts, including IKEA, Molson Coors, WestJet, and most notably, Kraft Heinz.

In 2021, Rethink was named one of the top three independent creative agencies at Cannes, and took home the title of AdAge’s Creative Agency of the Year. The agency’s stellar performance at Cannes, which yielded 23 Lions over the last two years, was driven by the numerous KraftHeinz hits that Mike has worked to oversee, including the Gold Lion-winning Draw Ketchup campaign, the frustratingly slow, all-red Heinz Ketchup Puzzle, the Heinz Hot Dog Pact, and the Heinz Perfect Pour campaign, which determined the perfect angle to coax the ketchup out of its classic glass bottle.

“Mike has been leading some of the most written about and talked about work in the world for many years now.” says Aaron Starkman, global CCO of Rethink. “This promotion is acknowledgment of the incredible leadership Mike has brought to Toronto and the incredible leader he continues to be.”

The agency continues to grow at record pace. The Toronto office saw its headcount double in size over the last year, thanks to growth with existing clients such as KraftHeinz, Molson Coors, IKEA and RXBAR.

Mike first joined Rethink in 2011, rising through the ranks to partner and creative director in 2015, followed by a promotion to executive creative director in 2020. That same year, he was named AdAge’s Creative Director of the Year, the first Canadian to take the title.
